The following 8 principles
go a long way in maximizing our full health potential. They are practical and achievable! N-E-W-S-T-A-R-T
NUTRITION - The more plant based and whole foods based our diet is, the healthier it is!
EXERCISE - at least 30min of exercise a day has an overwhelming positive impact on EVERY ASPECT of our lives. The less we move, the more we hurt.
WATER - drinking an average of 6-8 glasses of water per day minimum, simply drinking to your thirst is important. Headaches, tiredness, constipation, etc, are all ways your body tells you it is thirsty. This does not include tea or coffee or soft drinks. We would do well to minimize these.
SUNSHINE - is important for our bones (Vit D) and early sunshine sets us up for a good sleep at the end of the day! It lifts our mood, and remember slip, slop, slap.
TEMPERANCE - Total abstinence from harmful substances which have long-term negative effects on our overall health.
AIR - a daily walk in nature or exercise in fresh air is far more effective. Being outdoors helps us to relax and connect with our Creator!
REST - in His wisdom, God created a day of rest for us to enjoy, a day for us to rest from the hectic pace of life! Remember the Sabbath which he created for us! Rest is also a reminder of the importance of sleep, it is important to get on average 7-9hrs of sleep a day as an adult and 8-10hrs a day as a teenager.
- Having people around us who we can trust is important for our emotional and social health. Jesus Christ showed us that we can trust in God and trust in Him to walk with us each day. This trust is important for our Spiritual Health.
